Now You can Secure Your Private Data :)
Go to Profile Page->Settings->Privacy And You Can Select this Feature For Everyone or Only For Your Friends.No official word from orkut, but this feature is very much accessible. You just need to navigate to the privacy settings page of you orkut account to set your preferences.
